Baptism: Symbolism and Reality

“…when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you - not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ” (1 Pet 3:21).

God's Eternal Purpose

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified” (Romans 8:28-30).

How Could A Loving God...

"Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am being tempted by God'; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone... Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow" (James 1:13,16-17)

Uprooting The Judgmental Spirit

"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye" (Matt 7:1-5).

Knock and the Door will be Opened to You

When every door in your life seems closed and you feel stuck with no direction to turn, remember that God eagerly waits to welcome those who knock at the doors of heaven. He may not always open the door to health, wealth, or earthly happiness, but He will always open to the one who is seeking a deeper relationship with Him. As a loving Father, He genuinely desires our greatest good and will always give us what we truly need if we seek Him in faith.

Pride and Envy: The Terrible Twins

"If the foot says, 'Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,' it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. And if the ear says, 'Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,' it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body... And the eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you'; or again the head to the feet, 'I have not need of you'" (1 Cor 12:15-16, 21)

Lessons From The One Talent Man

"But his master answered and said to him, 'You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed. Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest. Therefore take away the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents... Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth'" (Matt 25:26-30)
